On Tuesday, Mumbai Police registered a case against the show producer Asit Kumarr Modi, operation head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj.

New Delhi: There seems to be no end for TV show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' makers. On Tuesday, Mumbai Police registered a case against the show producer Asit Kumarr Modi, operation head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj. The complaint came from one of the show's actors. The FIR was registered at the Powai Police station under sections  354 and 509 (Assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

No arrests have been made yet. As per news agency ANI, "Powai Police has registered a case against Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Modi, operation head Sohail Ramani, and executive producer Jatin Bajaj under sections 354 and 509 of the IPC based on a complaint by an actor of the show. No arrests have been made in this case so far: Mumbai Police."

Last month, an actor had filed a complaint against the showrunner Asit Modi, who has been in headlines for various similar reasons, and two other members of the crew.

"Powai Police recorded the statement of the actor in connection with her sexual harassment allegations against Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's producer Asit Kumarr Modi and two other members of the crew. The Police will also summon Asit Kumarr Modi soon for his statement," Mumbai Police had earlier said.

Asit Modi, in his defense, has refuted the charges and even alleged to take legal action against the actor trying to defame him.

As per the Mumbai Police, they had received a written complaint from the actor. The actor from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has filed a written complaint against a producer alleging sexual harassment. According to her complaint, producer Asit Modi and some crew members sexually harassed her. However, an FIR has yet to be registered. We have started an inquiry," the Mumbai Police said earlier.

In response, the accused and the team of directors issued an official statement denying all such allegations stating that the actor was driven by vendetta as her work contract with the production house was terminated.

"She (the actor) regularly misbehaved with the entire team on the show. While moving out from the shoot, she rashly drove her car out at very high speed not caring for people in her way. She even damaged the set property. We had to terminate her contract because of her bad behaviour and indiscipline during the shoot. During this incident, Asit Ji was in the USA. She is now trying to defame us and the show by making baseless allegations. We have already filed our complaint against these baseless allegations with the concerned authorities," their statement read.
