New Delhi: Regarding the FIR lodged against producer Asit Kumarr Modi, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal has finally spoken out. Earlier this month, Jennifer, known for her role as Mrs Roshan Sodhi on TMKOC, made allegations of sexual harassment against Modi. She submitted a formal complaint of sexual harassment on May 24. Now, the FIR is being filed against Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's producer Asit Modi, operation head Sohail Ramani, and executive producer Jatin Bajaj. Jennifer said that she is relieved about the FIR but isn't completely satisfied with it.
Authorities have said no arrests have been made as of yet, according to a story in Etimes. However, police authorities confirmed that an FIR had been filed against Asit Modi and that investigations were ongoing.
The complaint is lodged under sections 354 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code, which respectively refer to assault and criminal force to a woman with the intent to violate her modesty.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, Jennifer Mistry provided information about her FIR. She said, “I was called to the police station yesterday (Monday, June 19) evening. I reached there at 7:30 PM and I was there till 12:30 AM, and finally, the FIR has been registered. I’ve been told by the cops that they will call me whenever they need any information next. The law will take its course, whatever I could do, I have done. Mainly, the FIR has been registered because it was stuck for the past many days, and that’s a huge thing."
The actress insisted that the show's creators should issue an apology. She said, “I am at least relieved that an action has been taken now but I am still not happy in that way because this is not something that I wanted. I did not want this but God and the Universe is letting it happen, which means it had to happen.”
“I am still praying for the highest good for everyone in the world and that everything happens in a nicer way. I don’t want that anyone gets any kind of punishment, whatever it is just happens nicely," she concluded.
