New Delhi: A clip of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 15’ was circulating online where the show’s host Amitabh Bachchan was seen asking a derogatory question about Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.  On Monday, Sony TV issued a statement that the video was fabricated.

The statement read, “We have been alerted to the circulation of an unauthorised video from our show, 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'. This video misleadingly overlays a fabricated voice-over of our host and presents distorted content. Upholding the show's integrity and our viewers' trust is paramount, and we are actively addressing this matter with the cyber crime cell. We strongly condemn such misinformation, urge our audience to be vigilant, and refrain from sharing unverified content.”

The viral video shows one of the episodes of the show with a fake voice of Amitabh Bachchan superimposed on the video. He is seen asking the contestant, “Among these chief ministers, who is known as the ghoshna machine because of their fake announcements?’ The contestant names Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and it is announced that it’s the right answer. The other options included were Manohar Lal Khattar, Yogi Adityanath, and Bhupendra Patel. The host then explains why he's called the ‘Announcement Machine.’

The video was shared on X by Indian National Congress member Ritu Choudhary. She wrote in the caption in Hindi, “What kind of a question is being asked in KBC? Is it true that Shivraj Singh ji is the announcement minister?”

According to Indian Express, an FIR has been filed with the Bhopal police’s cyber crime cell.
