New Delhi: Ashneer Grover, a former 'Shark Tank India' judge, recently announced he will not serve as a 'Shark' on the show in any upcoming seasons.

At IIT Kharagpur's annual fest, Ashneer was speaking to a huge crowd of thousands, when a student stated they weren't enjoying season two without him. Then he completely ruled out the possibility of returning in later seasons of the show.

“Teesra, chautha, paanchwa season main nahi karne waala, mere se likhwa le. Aur uska reason yeh hai ke mujhe life mein aage badhna hai, peeche nahi. Life main aage badhna zaruri hota hai. Main bilkul stuck nahi hoon Shark Tank ko le ke. Life ka ek episode tha, kiya, maza aaya, fame kamaya, acha tha, ab woh aur kuch karenge. Hogaya uska (I won't be returning for the third, fourth, or even fifth season, and I'll put it in writing for you. And I'll tell you why: I think life is about moving forward, not turning backwards. I had fun on Shark Tank while it lasted and became famous, but it's time to move on now.)” Ashneer said.

Former judge on the reality show, Ashneer has yet to give a convincing explanation for why he chose not to come back, but he claimed to have "dominated" season one. After making an appearance in the popular first season, he left the show, and the other 'sharks' have commented on his absence.

Meanwhile, Grover also responded to a recent statement made by Namita Thapar about the lack of "toxicity" in the second season of the show. On a recent podcast, Namita stated that the absence of toxicity will be the main distinction between the first and second seasons. Many saw her words as an unintentional jab at Ashneer, who had earned a reputation for being a no-nonsense personality during his time on the show.

“Yaar dekh, main yahan pe aaya, maine Namita Thapar ki baat ki? Uska reason hai, kyunki main usse miss hi nahi karta. Par woh mereko miss karti hai. Chahe woh toxicity bol le ya kuch bhi bol le, miss toh mereko hi kar rahi hai na (You see, I haven't even mentioned Namita once. That's for a reason; I don't miss her. However, she misses me. Irrespective of what she calls it, I can see that she is missing me.)” he commented.

'Shark Tank India 2' is hosted by comedian Rahul Dua and has six judges: Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh, Peyush Bansal, and Amit Jain.
