New Delhi: In a recent episode of 'Shark Tank India Season 2', shark Peyush Bansal surprised everyone when he gave an open offer to the pitcher Ajinkya Dhariya, who presented his brand PadCare and impressed sharks with his sanitary waste management product. Peysh Bansal even offered a blank cheque to him saying, “black cheque le le bhar lio tu.” Ajinkya finally accepted the joint offer of Rs 1 crore for 4 per cent equity from Peyush, Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh and Anupam Mittal.
Ajinkya spoke to Indianexpress.com about the moment when he was offered a blank cheque on the show. “When I was given a blind offer, I just went blank. I thought yeh kya horaha hai. I didn’t know how to react. It was very generous of him. He wanted to be associated with the cause. Being on the show was not for monetary value but we wanted to be associated with all of them. As for his cheque, I guess I just enjoyed the moment.” he told Indianexpress.com.
He also said he was touched by how sharks believed in his vision. “It was not about the money but the aim to revolutionise this. I was anxious, and confused about how things would work out. However, there were no negotiations at all and I was eager to have more than one shark on board, and thus I accepted the offer,” he added.
Indianexpress.com also spoke with marketing and communication lead of PadCare, Kanchi Baldwa and she shared that have been flooded with demo bookings and have received positive feedback from all over.
“A lot of partnership stakeholders, and even international connections have also reached out to help build this big. They have all loved what we are doing,” she said, adding that Ajinkya’s pitch also did wonders, as people are amazed how a young entrepreneur has taken personal responsibility and added a human touch to his business. She said that he has brought together the aspect of empathy for women and waste pickers,” she was quoted as saying by Indianexpress.com.
