New Delhi: ‘Bigg Boss 16’ contestant Shalin Bhanot finished fifth in the show but he is happy to have landed the lead role in Ekta Kapoor's new show, ‘Beqaboo.’ Soon after his exit, Ekta Kapoor offered him the new show via a video call message.

“When I left the ‘Bigg Boss’ house and I was to meet Salman sir on stage, I was like, ‘I had reached this far in the show and I am going away without a trophy’. But in this finale, I believe two people are taking the trophy, one is MC Stan and another is Shalin Banot, who is given Ekta Kapoor show. I am very excited,” the actor told PTI in an interview.

The actor, who was often termed as ‘fake’ by the contestants inside the house, said the reality show helped him to embrace his lows.

“I realised that when you face your lows…you should not be in denial about it, because you get an answer to your problems only if you accept things. One should not shy away from anything; you should embrace your lows and fears. In this entire journey, today I feel I am more connected to my soul than ever,” he told PTI.

Shalin’s ex-wife Dalljiet Kaur, who supported him on the show a couple of times, is tying the knot with UK-based Nikhil Patel. Post-marriage, she will move first to Nairobi and eventually to London with her son Jaydon.

When Shalin was asked about the news in an interview with ETimes, he said though he has no idea about it, he wishes her a happy life. “I don’t know anything. So, I won’t be able to comment on it. I have just stepped out. This is news to me besides the one sentence that Salman Khan sir said on one of the weekend episodes. All I want to say is that God bless her,” the actor was quoted as saying by ETimes.

On Sunday night, rapper MC Stan emerged as the winner of ‘Bigg Boss 16’.
