New Delhi: Popular TV actress Surbhi Chandna, who shot to fame after playing the role of Anika in ‘Ishqbaaaz’, is rumoured to be playing the lead in the remake of ‘Sanjivani’ on Star Plus. Fans have been eagerly waiting to see Surbhi back on their TV screens ever since her stint in ‘Ishqbaaaz’ ended. The ‘Qubool Hai’ actress and her co-star in the show Nakuul Mehta won several hearts, all thanks to their sizzling chemistry.


Gossip mills were buzzing with the rumours that Nakuul and Surbhi will star in the remake of ‘Sanjivani’. However, the show’s producer Siddharth Malhotra squashed all the rumours and put an end to the conjecture.

As per the latest buzz, the makers have finalized the male lead actor opposite Surbhi Chandna.

According to a report in an entertainment portal, Namit Khanna will romance Surbhi in the remake of the medical drama.

The actor was last seen playing the role of Siddhant Sinha in ‘Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai’ opposite Palak Jain.

Namit also played the role of Ranbir Raichand in the web series 'Twisted' opposite Nia Sharma.


Interestingly, the report also stated that two more actors have been roped in for the remake.

Gurdeep Kohli and Mohnish Behl will be part of the remake of ‘Sanjivani’, as per the report in Tellychakkar. Interestingly, the two talented actors were part of the first season of the show which aired from 2002 to 2005. Gurdeep played the role of Dr. Juhi while Mohnish was seen as Dr. Shashank Gupta in the show. The show also starred Mihir Mishra and Rupali Ganguly in lead roles.

After the success of 'Sanjivani', the makers introduced its sequel 'Dill Mill Gayye' on Star One. The show starring Karan Singh Grover, Jennifer Winget, Karan Wahi, Shilpa Shukla became an instant hit among the youngsters when it was launched.
