New Delhi: Popular TV actress Surbhi Chandna, who shot to fame after playing the role of Anika opposite Nakuul Mehta in ‘Ishqbaaaz’, is all set to make her comeback with the remake of ‘Sanjivani’. Speculations were rife that Nakuul Mehta would play the male lead opposite Surbhi; however, there is no truth behind it.

We had earlier told you that ‘Yeh Pyaar Nahi To Kya Hai’ actor Namit Khanna will essay the character of male lead in ‘Sanjivani’. The actor was also seen in Vikram Bhatt’s ‘Twisted’ opposite Nia Sharma.

Surbhi and Namit have started shooting for ‘Sanjivani’ and the show’s producer Siddharth P Malhotra shared a picture on his Instagram story, marking the beginning of a new journey. Check out his post!


Surbhi and Namit’s characters in the show will hate each other in the initial period but they will end up falling in love eventually. Fans are super excited to see Surbhi as a doctor in the show. ‘Sanjivani 2’ will also feature Mohnish Bahl, Gurdeep Kohli and Sayantani Ghosh in key roles.

‘Sanjivani’, which was launched in 2002, proved to be a huge success. The medical drama starred Gurdeep Kohli, Mihir Mishra, Rupali Ganguly, and Mohnish Behl in pivotal roles.

After the success of 'Sanjivani', the makers launched its sequel 'Dill Mill Gayye' in 2007 on Star One. The show featured Karan Singh Grover, Jennifer Winget, Karan Wahi and Shilpa Anand in lead roles. The show was quite popular among youngsters and Karan and Jennifer’s chemistry was quite a hit with the viewers.

'Sanjvani 2' is expected to hit the airwaves on Star Plus from July.
