Coming back to 'Ramayana', it is an Indian historical-drama epic television series, which originally aired during 1987-1988, created, written, and directed by Ramanand Sagar. Later, show's re-runs were aired on Star Plus and Star Utsav.

The show was a television adaptation of the ancient Indian Hindu epic of the same name, and is primarily based on Valmiki's Ramayan and Tulsidas' Ramcharitmanas.

DD National, amid the Coronavirus lockdown, started broadcasting Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayan' from March 28 and the show is fetching amazing numbers for the channel.
