New Delhi: After Shailesh Lodha, another member of 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' has bid adieu to the show. Raj Anadkat, who played the role of Tipendra 'Tapu' Jethalal Gada, on Tuesday announced that his association with the longest-running sitcom has ended.
Raj took to Instagram to make this announcement. He wrote, “Hello Everyone, It's time to lay all questions and speculation to rest. My association with Neela Film Productions and Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma has officially ended. It has been a wonderful journey of learning, making friends, and having some of the best years of my career.”
He continued, “I would like to thank everyone who supported me in this journey - The entire team of TMKOC, my friends, family and of course all of you (red heart emoji). Everyone who welcomed me into the show and loved me as 'TAPU ' Your love for my craft has always pushed me to give my best to each and every one of you, every single time.”
Raj concluded, “I wish the team of TMKOC all the very best for the future of the show. I'll be back to entertain all of you very soon. Keep showering your love and support (red heart and folded hands emojis).- Raj Anadkat."
Raj was playing Tapu’s character since 2017 after Bhavya Gandhi quit the show. Raj had been absent from the show for a few months and this raised speculations that he has left the serial.
Earlier in August when asked about the same, he told Pinkvilla, “My fans, my audience, my well-wishers, they all know that I am very good in creating suspense. I am an expert in creating suspense.”
‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ recently completed 14 years, it premiered on 28 July 2008. Since then, there have been a lot of changes to its cast. Disha Vakani, who used to play Dayaben, left the show in 2017 and her character has not been replaced till now. Recently Sachin Shroff joined the show to play Taarak Mehta after Shailesh Lodha quit a few months back.
