Mumbai: Actor Mohnish Bahl who will be seen hosting crime series ".Hoshiyaar.. Sahi waqt, sahi kadam", says it is difficult to do such shows as they are emotionally draining.

Mohnish returns to television after a long hiatus as a 'Sutradhaar' (narrator) for the crime series, which will be aired on &TV.

"It's not easy as whole day you are subjected to negative emotions and crime. It's difficult to do a show like this. When we talk about negativity through crime it has an effect on me. It's not a comedy show that I am enjoying myself," Mohnish told PTI.

"But the purpose of the show is to avert the crime and change things in a better way. I think if you don't feel empathy for what happens your performance won't come true as a host. The audience should believe what you are saying," he said.

The concept of the show appealed to the 55-year-old actor who thinks the show addresses day to day issues in a positive manner and emphasizes on the preventive measures rather than glorifying the crime.

"This is the first time I have come across a show that deals with events leading upto the crime, averts the crime than showing what happens post the crime. My job is to convey the content of the show to the best of my ability," he adds.

The "Hum Saath Saath Hain" actor is aware of the crime that happens in our society and he feels saddened about it.

"I think as society we tend to desensitise and it's sad. It's a fact. Like female infanticide, sex determination test and all is done even today and its unfortunate. We need to fight and I think shows like this would help," Mohnish said.
