New Delhi: It was reported that ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ star Shamita Shetty was dating actor Aamir Ali after a video of Ali kissing Shetty on the cheek went viral online. Many online users began to speculate whether or not the two were romantically involved. The actress and Aamir Ali have been mum about the rumours that they are dating. But now Shamita has set the record straight and said that she has no desire to date.
On January 30, 2023, Shamita Shetty addressed the rumours that she was dating Aamir Ali on her Twitter account. She criticised the people's judgmental mentality, saying that she is happily single and that people on the internet easily draw conclusions. She also questioned the rationale of the obsessive focus on a celebrity's every move.
She wrote ‘I'm baffled by society and it's convenient prudish mindset all across. Why is every action and every person subjected to scrutiny or snap judgement with no reality check? There are possibilities beyond the narrow-minded assumptions of the NETIZENS."
In another tweet, she wrote, "It's high time we open our minds to it! Single n happy .. let’s focus on more important issues in this country!"
Earlier, Shamita Shetty dated Raqesh Bapat and the pair painted the town red with their much loved pictures. They were often spotted together by the paparazzi and never shied away from expressing their love for each other. The duo was much loved by fans who coined the name 'Shara' for them. The two met and fell in love on Bigg Boss OTT, but they broke up in July of last year.
In the past, Aamir Ali was married to actress Sanjeeda Shaikh. They were married for nine years, but in January 2021, things began to go south and they got divorced.
When it comes to her work life, Shamita's next film, ‘The Tenant’, is set for a 10 February 2023 release.
