New Delhi: Actor Kushal Tandon has been roped in to play the male lead in another show of Ekta Kapoor. Kushal was earlier supposed to play the lead in 'Bekaaboo' which also stars Bhojpuri actor Monalisa. This new show is said to be a male-oriented show, reported ETimes. The show will be a love story and the production house is on a lookout for female protagonists. 


ETimes quoted a source close to the development who said, " the male lead in Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming show. A source associated with the show said, “It’s a love story and Kushal is perfect for the part. The character will have a lot of shades. The production house is currently looking out for the female protagonist and the rest of the casting is underway, too. The show is expected to go on floors by the middle of next month.”


Kushal Tandon was last seen in 'Beyhadh' which ended in 2017. This show will mark Kushal's return to the small screen after a span of six years. 


After 'Beyhadh', Kushal Tandon was seen in the OTT world for a lookout of versatile characters. Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Kushal Tandon had said, "The reason I shifted to the OTT platform was that I got a chance to work in a different kind of story, moreover web series are quite quick, work-wise." At that time too Kushal had added that he wasn't averse to returning to TV if he got a good project.


'Kushal Tandon has been a part of projects ;like 'Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai', 'Nach Baliye 5', 'Bigg Boss 7', and 'Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 5'.


Kushal has been working since 2005. He was the first-runner up of the Grasim Mr. India contest in 2005. Later he starred in 'Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai' and became a household name across the TV industry. 


In 2012, he ranked second in Eastern Eye's 50 Sexiest Asian Men List 2012.
