TV actress Shweta Tiwari, best known for portraying the lead role of 'Prerna' in Ekta Kapoor's much-loved Star Plus show 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay', was last seen in Shivangi Joshi starrer &TV show 'Begusarai' and is away from small-screen ever since the show went off-air in June 2016. It's been more than three years and her fans are missing seeing her on TV. But, here comes great news! As per the latest buzz, Shweta Tiwari is finally making her TV comeback and has bagged lead role in an upcoming Sony TV show.

According to an entertainment portal, "Shweta will return to the daily TV grind with DJ’s – A Creative Unit’s upcoming show titled Mere Dad Ki Dulhan."

In the show, Shweta Tiwari will be seen opposite known TV actor Varun Badola. 'Mere Dad Ki Dilhan' will revolve around the bond between a father & her daughter. After realising loneliness in her father's life, the daughter will find a partner for him.

Speaking about Shweta Tiwari playing the female lead in the show, a source told IWMBuzz that, "Shweta is apt for the role given her oodles of experience in playing mature characters."


However, the actress as well as makers are yet to confirm the same.

On the career front, Shweta Tiwari became a household name after 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay' and went on to be a part of many popular shows like 'Naaginn', 'Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao', 'Bigg Boss 4', 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa', 'Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi' among others.
