New Delhi: Popular TV actress Erica Fernandes is winning the hearts of the viewers with her performance as Prerna in Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2’. The show co-starring Hina Khan and Parth Samthaan has managed to do quite well in terms of TRPs. Erica made her small screen debut with ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi’ opposite Shaheer Sheikh. The beautiful actress received acclaim from the corners for portraying the character of Sonakshi Bose.

Speculations were rife that Erica and Shaheer were dating each other. however, the two actors never confirmed the same and maintained that they are very good friends.

A certain section of media recently reported that Erica unfollowed Shaheer on Instagram , setting several tongues wagging.

Erica has finally put an end to the rumours floating on the internet and said that she was not following the ‘Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke’ actor for over two years now.

The actress, while talking to a leading daily, cleared the air on unfollowing rumoured beau Shaheer on Instagram.

“I haven’t been following Shaheer on social media for over two years. Why is it being blown out of proportion now? Certain sections of the media have been publishing random nonsense, but why are the others following suit? Don’t they do their research before carrying a story?,” Erica told Times Of India.

Shaheer Sheikh, who is seen as Abir in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’s spin-off, also responded in a similar fashion.

“This isn’t a new development, it happened two years ago. I know how nasty social media can get and have been recommending people associated with me, including my friends and family to not follow me on social media,” the ‘Daastane-E-Mohabbat: Salim Anarkali’ actor told TOI.

Shaheer also said that he never dated Erica and their equation has remained the same.

“We were never dating, and nothing has changed between us. In fact, she is still in touch with my family and me. I have also met her and her co-actor Parth (Samthaan) on several occasions and am friends with them,” the actor was quoted as saying by the daily.


With both Erica and Shaheer making things clear, we hope gossip mills will finally put an end to the rumours.
