New Delhi: TV Czarina Ekta Kapoor is all set to launch season two of her popular show ‘Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki’ on Colors TV. The makers of the show are currently busy roping in actors. We had earlier informed you that ‘Naagin 3’ actor Pearl V Puri has high chances of playing the male lead in ‘Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki 2’. As per the latest buzz, the hunt for the female lead has finally ended.


A report in a leading daily has suggested that Ishita Dutta will play the female lead in ‘Kasam 2’.

"Unlike the previous season, which was a typical family drama, the second edition will be a love story laced with thriller elements. After contemplating a few names, we have finalised Ishita for the part. She will play Palak and fits the part perfectly," a source told Times Of India.

Ishita expressed her excitement on being a part of a show helmed by Ekta Kapoor.

"Yes, I am a part of the second season of 'Kasam'. I am extremely excited about working with Ekta Kapoor. She has given the audience best of shows. It's a show that has been loved by people and it's a huge responsibility to take the legacy ahead," the Bengali beauty told TOI.

The shooting for the new season of ‘Kasam’ will commence soon and the show is expected to hit the airwaves in the third week of May, the report further said.

On the professional front, Ishita made her TV debut with the show ‘Ek Ghar Banaunga’ opposite Rahul Sharma. She is fondly known for playing the role of Anju Salgaonkar in Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Drishyam’.

The actress was last seen in an episode of 'Kaun Hai' along with her husband Vatsal Sheth. Ishita is the sister of Tanushree Dutta.


Talking about ‘Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki 2’, the show will replace Shashank Vyas and Donal Bisht starrer ‘Roop-Mard Ka Naya Swaroop’.
