According to media reports, the massive accident took place at Sunnampukuttai village near Pernambut.
Sindhu was travelling with three other people from Chennai to Bengaluru. The collision was so deadly that it led to the immediate death of all the four passengers in the vehicle.
The names of the other deceased have been reported as Abhishek Kumaran (22), Jayankandran (23) and Rakshan (20).
Apart from acting in Tamil and Kannada TV shows, Rekha featured in several advertisements as a model.
