JD Majethia, renowned for producing popular Indian television shows like 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai' and 'Khichdi', recently revealed that he was questioned by the police after actor Gurucharan Singh, who used to play Roshan Sodi in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, went missing a few months ago. Despite having no substantial connection with Singh, Majethia found himself facing “aadhe-tedhe sawaal (twisted questions)” from the authorities.

JD Majethia on police questioning him when Gurucharan Singh went missing

During an interview with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, JD Majethia recounted the incident: “I had gotten a call from an actor I had once worked with. She was very scared and frantically called me multiple times. I was in a channel meeting, yet I took the call, and she informed me that Gurucharan was missing for a week. She told me that she had gone to receive him at the Mumbai Airport, but he never came. I found something fishy, so I immediately called CINTAA, Asit Modi, and the channel. I was in touch with them, and later when the Delhi police came, I was questioned too."

Majethia continued, “They held a proper inquiry. We could not meet in the initial two days, so they thought I was avoiding them. They asked me lots of aadhe-tedhe sawaal (twisted questions). I have no connection with Sodhi other than meeting him at a function once. In the end, the cops told me that they never found anyone like me in Mumbai.”

Speaking about his disappearance to Hindustan Times, Singh had said, "Mera abhi case close hona hai. Kuch formalities ho gayi hain, thodi bachi hain. Ek baar woh ho jaaye toh main sabse aaram se baat karunga iss baare mein.( My case is not yet closed. Some formalities are left while others are done. Once that is taken care of, I will open up to everyone about this).
