Star Plus show 'Ishqbaaaz', featuring Nakuul Mehta & Niti Taylor in lead role of Shivaansh Singh Oberoi & Mannat Kaur Khurana, is currently one of the most popular shows on Star Plus. Recently, there were reports that show's former leading lady Manjiri Pupala aka ACP Aditi is out from 'Ishqbaaaz' but it is yet to get confirmed. Amid the rumours around Manjiri's exit, the makers of 'Ishqbaaz: Pyaar Ki Ek Dhinkchaak Kahani' are set to introduce a new character to make the show more interesting and entertaining. Reportedly, popular actor Amar Upadhyay has joined the cast of 'Ishqbaaaz'.

The 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' actor will be playing the role of Surbhi Chandna aka Anika's brother Sahil & Shivaansh's uncle in 'Ishqbaaaz'. For the uninitiated, child artist Aryan Prajapati played younger Sahil in 'Ishqbaaaz' and he was loved by viewers for his cute antics. Whereas, the grown-up Sahil will have a negative shade to his character.

Ishqbaaaz: Manjiri Pupala aka ACP Aditi no more a part of Nakuul Mehta-Niti Taylor's show?

Confirming his entry in 'Ishqbaaaz', Amar Upadhyay told a leading daily that, "Yes, I will play the grown-up Sahil. It will be a grey character. I am excited about collaborating with Gul Khan (producer) after several years. She directed me on 'Saathiya – Pyar Ka Naya Ehsaas', and it was amazing to work with someone like her. We have been friends since then, and we were very keen to collaborate again. I am glad that it's finally happening and that too, on a good show. The fact that Gul presents her characters in a grand fashion became one of the primary reasons for me to take up this show. Presenting an artiste well is paramount, irrespective of the medium, and Gul is an expert at that."

He further told "I have been watching the show for the last two weeks. That's when I was approached for the part and it was important to understand the world of the character and the story. The deal materialised in a matter of a day or so, and I will start shooting today. Since the character has been a part of the show, I am sure the audience will relate to the change instantly."

On the career front, Amar Upadhyay became a household name after playing the lead role of 'Mihir' opposite Smriti Irani in Ekta Kapoor's 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi'. But, he quit the show for Bollywood films. After the failure of his films, the actor came back on TV and did shows like 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay', 'Kkusum', 'Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai', 'Bigg Boss 5', 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya' among others and was last seen in Sony TV's 'Ek Deewaana Tha'.
