New Delhi: Sanjay Gagnani, who has been essaying the role of Kundali Bhagya's Prithvi for the past six years, is finally saying goodbye to the programme. The actor persisted even though he had intended to leave the programme in December. But he's definitely moving on this time.
As per an ETimes report, Sanjay shared his reasons for bidding his final adieu to the family drama as it gets ready to take a 20-year-leap. The actor said, "There has been a lot of speculation about my exiting Kundali Bhagya over the past few months. It's true that I had plans to quit the show in December but then I had a change of heart. The character Prithvi has gone through ups and downs, and I have exited and entered the show thrice in the past. Every time my character exited the show, I felt that it had scope and there was still more I could contribute to it. However, now that the show is taking a leap, I have decided to exit. Over the years, I grew emotionally attached to the entire team of Kundali Bhagya."
Sanjay is now keen on looking at other options that would help him explore his versatility as an actor. Talking about his 'professional career taking a leap' as well, he said, "Just as Kundali is taking a leap, my professional career is also taking a leap. I would now like to explore web shows and other platforms. I want to be a versatile actor. I would like to wish the Kundali team and especially the actor who will now be essaying the villain all the best."
'Kundali Bhagya' is all set to take a 20-year-leap. The show's lead actor, Shakti Arora, who had taken over for Dheeraj Dhoopar, is also leaving because he does not want to portray a father to adult children. The lead actress on the show, Shraddha Arya, will remain on board.
