Popular TV show ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’ starring Saumya Tandon, Shubhangi Atre Poorey, Rohitash Gaud and Aashif Sheikh has successfully touched the 900 episodes mark earlier this week. At a time when shows go off air within six months, the sitcom has managed to sustain its viewership and continues to remain one of the most loved shows on the small screen. From the hilarious one-liners on the show to the adorable characters, ‘Bhabiji’ has etched a special place in the hearts of the viewers.

As the show added another feather to its cap, we decided to touch base with Rohitash Gaud aka out very own Manmohan Tiwari, who can’t help but get attracted to Anita bhabhi. The talented actor talked about his memorable journey on the show and a lot more.

‘’When ‘Bhabiji’ was launched we never expected the show to do so well. Our show was launched along with biggies like ‘Begusarai’ and ‘India Puchega Sabse Shaana Kaun’. Our content was far different than the other saas bahu sagas. I never thought that BGPH would be accepted so well by the masses as our show revolved around two married men who get attracted to their neighbors (read bhabhiji here),’’ Gaud said.

“When we received our first ratings, we were excited as it was on par with Shah Rukh Khan’s game show. Despite a late night slot of 10:30pm and no publicity, we managed to get good TRPs. We have entered our fourth year and I feel blessed to be part of the show,’’ the actor added.

The show has given fans some of the most amazing characters be it Angoori Bhabhi, Manmohan Tiwari, Vibhuti Narayan Mishra, Happu Singh or Saxena and Rohitash is overwhelmed response.

‘’Every character in the show has become popular today. Happu Singh was supposed to only appear in one episode but his popularity made him an integral part of the show,’’ the ‘Lapatanganj’ actor said.

The show faced its biggest challenge when Shilpa Shinde aka original Angoori bhabhi left the show post a fall-out with the producers. Talking about the same, Rohitash said, ‘’Yes, Shilpa’s exit was a huge blow to us and we expected the show to shut its shop soon but the team managed to survive the tide by giving 100 percent.’’

Giving props to the writers and director, Rohitash said, ‘’Television is a character and writer medium and it is the writer who creates characters like Manmohan, Vibuti and Saxena. Credit goes to our director Shashank Bali, who has perfectly executed everything.’’

We congratulate the entire team of ‘Bhabiji’ for the massive feat and we hope the show continues to entertain the viewers with its rib-tickling comedy.
