According to reports, the Lahore-based singer was found lying unconscious in the washroom.
The musician's brother Sonu Ali told The Express Tribune that, "Zain told us that he was going to hang out with his friends for a few days but we woke up to the news of his death."

Zain's friends told his brother that he went to the washroom and when he did not come out for a long time, they started banging the door and calling his name. That's when they pushed the door and found him lying unconscious on the floor.
Zain was from Lahore and was, reportedly, visiting his friends in Sheikhupura on 20th July. His brother shared that he had no conflicts of any sort and was excited about a new song he was going to sing for a movie.
Medical investigations are on and people suspect drug overdose. Singer's brother revealed that the singer was a drug addict but he wouldn't have crossed the limits.
Zain came from the Saeed Mitha family of musicians. Sa Re Ga Ma Pa was a big break for the singer, who won accolades both in Indian and Pakistan. Zain couldn't win the show but was appreciated by all and was called as the future of Pakistani music.
