New Delhi: It’s time to send congratulatory messages to TV actor Ankit, who was last seen in ‘Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji. The actor has got engaged to his girlfriend Aashima Nair on Thursday (August 15) in an intimate ceremony. The two lovebirds, who exchanged rings on Independence Day 2019, have plans to get married next year.


Ankit, who has been part of several shows, took to his Instagram story to share a picture from his engagement ceremony. The ‘Veera’ actor looked dapper in a beige sherwani while his ladylove looked beautiful in a maroon lehenga. Check out the picture!

Ankit, while talking to a leading daily, opened up about his love story with Aashima, who is an aspiring singer. The actor said that he met his fiancée during Ganesh Chaturthi last year.

“I met Aashima a year ago during Ganesh Chaturthi. We stay in the same building and bumped into each other a few days after she moved to Mumbai from Delhi. We felt the urge to talk to each other, but could only stare at each other for the next two months. However, we finally spoke, exchanged numbers and started following each other on social media. Initially, it was only friendship, but soon, we started meeting with other friends in the building and bonded over badminton. Slowly, we fell in love. I love Aashima’s simplicity, innocence and family values,” Ankit told Times Of India.

On the professional front, Ankit Shah was last seen as Jasmin Bhasin’s best friend in the show ‘Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji’. He has also been part of 'Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil', Chandragupta Maurya' and ALT Balaji’s ‘Home’.
