Mumbai: Leaps have often worked wonders for Indian TV shows. The makers introduce leaps to rejuvenate the show’s storyline and improve the TRPs. A popular daily soap is all set to follow a similar route. We are talking about ‘Choti Sarrdaarni’, which will soon witness a time jump. Yes, you read that right!

The show, which airs on Colors channel, will take a generation leap. According to a report in Times Of India, Avinesh Rekhi has decided to quit the show as he was not comfortable playing the role of a father to Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia.

Nimrit will be seen essaying the role of her own daughter in ‘Choti Sarrdaarni’ after the leap, the report added. While the makers have managed to retain Nimrit, Avinesh and Anita Raaj are no longer a part of the show.

On a related note, Shehzada Dhami will be seen as Param Singh Gill post the leap in the show. Fans will have wait for sometime to see who will romance Seher in the serial.

‘Choti Sarrdaarni’, which was launched in July 2019, emerged as one of the most popular shows on the small screen. The fiction show managed to strike a chord with the viewers despite a lesser-known star cast. Both Nimrit and Avinesh became household names after playing the role of Meher and Param. The regular twists and turns helped the show in grabbing eyeballs.

TV Shows Which Recently Took A Leap

Popular shows like ‘Kundali Bhagya’, ’Kumkum Bhagya’ and ‘Barrister Babu’ have taken a leap in recent times. Anchal Sahu replaced Aurra Bhatnagar as the grown up Bondita in Colors TV’s ‘Barrister Babu’.  It remains to be seen if the leap formula works well for the social drama or not.
