New Delhi: Punjabi singer and Bigg Boss 13 contestant Himanshi Khurana had recently revealed she went into depression after participating in the reality show. Now in a series of tweets, the singer has alleged that Bigg Boss makers have their own ‘favourites’ which are presented in good light and others are presented negatively.
She wrote, “People normally judge you on the basis of how a particular reality show presents you as a person. The fragile minds of the audience don't have an idea about what goes on behind the camera.”
She wrote about the makers’ biasedness in another tweet, “The makers have their favourites whom they want to present as the hero and the others are presented with a negative image. Unfortunately when fans get into the trap they start targeting the one who is shown against their favourite celeb.”
She then went on to state that trolls ‘degrade’ non-favourite contestants even more affecting the contestant mentally.
“They troll and degrade them to a level that affects one's mind so much that one goes into depression. When that person comes out and speaks about the mental health and issues he or she is dealing with , it is made fun of,” her tweet read.
“But when that person takes a harsh step by ending his or her life the same people say that he or she should have spoken about it Have never understood the double standards of society,” she added.
Himanshi had revealed on the Punjabi talk show ‘Dil Diyan Gallan,’ that she went into depression after the show.
“When I went into the Bigg Boss 13 house, everybody thought that this was life-changing, but that was not the reality. I went into depression because of the negativity in the house. I suffered so much that it took me almost two years to come out of it," she told the show host Sonam Bajwa.
Himanshi explained further, "I went into severe depression after Bigg Boss 13, which started affecting my heart. I used to get panic attacks before going to events, shoots, and while I was dancing at Afsana Khan's wedding, I got a heart issue, due to which I was rushed to the hospital. I was in the hospital, and only my close people knew about it."
She said it took her so long to recover and build her life again and that she is still recovering from it.
