Mugdha and Rahul confidently state that the two are extremely close and happy.

Having said that, since Rahul and Mugdha are head over heels in love with each another. In an interview with Pinkvilla,  Rahul was asked him about his plans of moving on legally with the Fashion star to which he said, "I have never thought so much in detail about life. I had other things in mind, but somebody up there had a different plan for me. My relationship with my wife was so fantastic. Though being with Mugdha, I am not making up for someone who is not there anymore. She (Rina) was older to me by a year and hence there was pressure from her side of the family. I was financially not strong and was struggling when I got married. Honestly, I would have wanted to wait for a few more years to be ideally stable to get married. You know, our's was a Valentine's Day wedding, a day no one can ever forget and then we had Siddhant one year after our marriage. So ideally I knew Rina for 26 years in all. But I have come to terms that one cannot challenge the laws of the universe. When she passed away, I was very disgruntled and disappointed. But you know when everything is in perfection and harmony, a challenge does come across your way," said Rahul. "So heading back to your question, I haven't thought of remarrying. What I only know is,  agar hoga toh usi se hi whom I love. So itna main sochta hi nahi hoon ki remarriage karna chahiye ya nahi, shaadi honi bhi chahiye ya nahi. I got married instinctively and whatever it is I go by the instincts," he added.

The actor is a doing daddy to a 19-year-old young boy Siddhanth who is soon to pursue his higher education in the UK. He was asked about Mugdha's bonding with Siddhanth and Rahul says, "I wouldn't say it's fantastic and it can never be, god willingly it will be, but yes it's good." Then he was asked that is she comfortable being a mother to a teenage boy?! To this, Rahul probably had the best reply. "You will need to ask her that," he said. "I have never answered for Rina and can't answer for Mugdha as well. It will be unfair if I answer from her end. How can I tell if she is comfortable in being with someone who is into movies or who is older to her?" he added. The 48-year-old further said, "When we met in 2013, Mugdha was younger than what she is now. She is still young. That time I was in my forties and even now, I am still in forties. She does love me a lot or else why will someone give away their youth for someone who is middle aged!?"
