Mumbai Police has provided additional security outside Jalsa, the iconic bungalow of Amitabh Bachchan and Family in Juhu. The police called it a precautionary measure amid vicious trolling of Jaya Bachchan on social media after her Parliament speech on Tuesday.

Without taking name, Jaya Bachchan, said in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday: "Just because of a few people, you cannot tarnish the whole industry... Jis thaali me khaate hain usi me chched karte hain."

And while the 72-year-old veteran actress received support from many in Bollywood after her fiery speech, a large section of social media users criticised her statements, with hashtags such as #ShameOnJayaBachchan trending on Twitter. Following which the security has been increased at Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan's home.

Jaya also said the government should stand by the entertainment industry when some people are trying to tarnish its image.

She also added people working in the entertainment industry are being "flogged" by social media.

Jaya Bachchan, a four-time Rajya Sabha MP had on Tuesday given a zero hour notice in the Upper House over an alleged conspiracy to defame the film industry.
