Last week, during a weekend special episode, host Kamal Haasan met the contestants and interacted with them about the events that had cropped up in the house in the fifth week. It was then when Saravanan admitted that he used to 'grope' women on public buses back in his college days in a very jolly mood. The Tamil actor's comments in-front of host Kamal Hassan didn't go well with the audiences and he was badly bashed on social media by many.
The visuals showed the audience clapping and laughing at his confession while Haasan also responded in jest, saying Saravanan had gone “beyond the divine” (a reference to a dialogue from his film Guna) in making the statement.
Several people on social media, including singer Chinmayi Sirpada, condemned what Saravanan said as well as the response of the audience.
Later after getting embroiled in the controversy, Saravanan had even apologized in the next episode but looks like makers took his remark seriously and preferred eliminating him from the show!
On Monday’s episode, Saravanan was suddenly called into the confession room where Bigg Boss made the announcement.
Bigg Boss told the actor, “The team could not pay much attention to your comments on national television because we were focusing on the issue between Meera and Cheran (wherein the former accused the director of manhandling her). Even though you apologised for your statement, we can’t take this lightly. Crores of families across the world are watching the program, and we wish to condemn the incident. So you cannot continue on the show and are evicted.”
