Veteran Gujarati films and TV actor Ghanshyam Nayak passed away on Sunday, best known for his onscreen role of Nattu Kaka in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah the 76-year-old actor was battling cancer for a really long time and took chemotherapy sessions once in every month.
On Monday, the late actor’s family performed his last rites and the entire cast and crew from lead actor Dilip Joshi to Munmun Dutta were present at the funeral and bid him final farewell with moist eyes.
The late legendary actor had shared his feelings in a conversation with one of his friends Mr. Abhilash Ghoda from Gujarati Films Award Organiser days before his death.
According to a report in etimes, in the last audio call with Mr. Ghoda, Ghanshyam Nayak said that he wanted to die with his make up on and work till his last breath. He spoke about this after he returned from Daman, where he shot for an episode of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
Despite his illness, Ghanshyam Nayak stayed committed to his work and thanked God for letting him put up a good shot. He was also undergoing chemotherapy during that period and said, "God has been kind to me the episode has turned out well and has been appreciated."
A source also informed the website that the late actor's son applied makeup on his face when he was breathing his last.
