And why not so? It was Sushant who appeared to be the reel life Dhoni in his biopic – MS Dhoni, the Untold Story. Sushant played the role with perfection and Dhoni became a great admirer of the actor. Dhoni’s manager Arun, who also happened to be the producer of the film MS Dhoni, the Untold Story, reveals that the news of Sushant’s death has left them speechless.
“We can’t even believe what has happened. I am not in a position to express my grief. Mahi is also very morose. Such a tragic incident,” Arun, who is now staying in Delhi, said to ABP Ananda in a telephonic conversation. Arun shared his memories of Sushant during the shooting of the film MS Dhoni, the Untold Story. He said, “I spent 18 long months with Sushant during shooting. He was very focussed about the character that he was about to play on screen. He spent 9 month-time on the field so that he can replicate Dhoni in every aspect. He spent 15 days with Mahi himself. To me, Sushant was an actor who would leave no stone unturned to make his work perfect.”
“Sushant used to practice under the watchful eyes of former cricketer Kiran More who taught him how to keep wickets, which was very essential to play the role of Mahi. I still remember that Sushant had a bad side strain during practice and even there was a crack in his backbone. But he was confident, worked hard in rehabilitation and recovered within a week. Even Mahi was impressed to see his dedication to work.” Also Read: 'You Said We Would Play Tennis Together One Day': Sania Mirza Mourns Sushant Singh Rajput's Demise
“Sushant worked whole night to assimilate the script. He was desperate to play the role with perfection. He used to say that since he got the opportunity to portray Mahi on screen, he will give his best. It was not easy to play the role of Mahi on screen. But Sushant made it look easy. Mahi and we all knew that he was the best person to play the character,” said Arun.
Seemant Lohani was one of Dhoni’s close friends who spent a lot of time with Sushant during the shooting of the film. “Sushant was eager to portray the character of Mahi on screen, and that too with utmost perfection. He used to have many words with us and wanted to know how Mahi walks or speaks. The way he portrayed every mannerism of Mahi was astonishing. It was the sign of a quality actor,” Seemant, aka Chittu, said over mobile phone from Ranchi.
Sushant’s untimely demise has left Mahi and his close circle of friends heartbroken.
