New Delhi: Telugu superstar Krishna, known for his stellar performances in over 300 movies, left for his heavenly abode earlier today, on November 15, 2022. He was in a critical condition and was kept under observation in the Intensive Care Unit of Hyderabad's Continental Hospital, after suffering from a cardiac arrest on Monday, November 14.


The veteran actor, whose full name was Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy, turned 79 in May this year. Krishna was the father of renowned Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. The Ghattamaneni family is going through a rough patch with back-to-back tragedies. Mahesh Babu's father Indira Devi passed away recently, in September, this year. While his elder brother Ramesh Babu breathed his last at the beginning of the year, in January.


As soon as news of superstar Krishna's death broke, several popular actors of the Telugu film industry took to their social media accounts to pay tribute to the veteran actor and offer their condolences to Mahesh Babu and his family.


Superstar Chiranjeevi took to his Twitter handle and wrote a heartfelt message in Telugu which translates to, "This is a tragedy beyond words. I can't believe that Superstar Krishna is leaving us. He is a kind hearted Himalayan mountain. A shout for adventure is synonymous with bravery. Courage, adventure, perseverance, humanity, goodness.. Krishna is the combination of these."


"Such a great man is rare not only in the Telugu film industry but also in the Indian film industry. A tearful tribute to Krishna who has done so many adventures that the Telugu film industry can be proud of. My deepest condolences and condolences to my brother Mahesh Babu, all his family members and his innumerable fans, wishing his soul to rest in peace. Ghattamaneni's family."

Telugu superstar Nani also offered his tribute to the legendary actor as he wrote, "SUPER STAR KRISHNA  End of an era. My deepest condolences to @urstrulyMahesh sir, family and Krishna Gaaru’s extended family which includes you, me and every telugu cinema fan."






 


Actress Radhika Sarathkumar shared a memory of working with Krishna in a movie, and wrote, "Deeply saddened on the passing of #KrishnaGaru a man who made a great mark as a #SuperStarKrishna . May his soul #RIPKrishnaGaru . My condolences to @urstrulyMahesh and family in these trying times"


 






Popular actor Sai Dharam Tej also expressed grief over the demise of the veteran actor as he wrote, "Extremely saddened at the loss of #Superstarkrishna garu. can't imagine how tough this could be. Wishing all the strength to @urstrulymahesh anna and the family. May your soul RIP & you'll always be alive in our hearts sir. om shanti"


 






Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao also condoled the death of the famous film actor and producer Krishna. The CM remembered Krishna's services to the Telugu film industry for five decades as an actor, producer, director and head of a production company.


The CM said that the death of Krishna, who acted in more than 350 films and left an indelible mark on the hearts of moviegoers, is a huge loss for the Telugu film industry. Apart from various family drama films, Krishna was popular as an actor in social films that create social consciousness among the people.


The CM recalled that the working class of those days considered Krishna as their favourite hero and superstar. Krishna is credited with establishing his own production company and introducing new trends in the field of film production.


CM KCR expressed his deepest condolences to the family members of Krishna.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief over the sad demise of one of the legends of Telugu cinema. The PM tweeted, "Krishna garu was a legendary superstar who won the hearts of people with his amazing acting skills and superior and friendly personality. His death is a great loss to the world of cinema. My deepest condolences to his family at this sad time @urstrulyMahesh Om Shanti.
