Director Vignesh Shivan, on Monday, posted an unseen video with his wife Nayanthara, and their twin sons, Uyir and Ulag. The video, which features intimate moments of the family, has drawn attention due to the song 'Kannaana Kanne' from ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’ playing in the background amid the ongoing legal tussle between the couple and Dhanush.

The director, who has been vocal about his frustration with Dhanush's refusal to allow Netflix documentary ‘Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale’ to use footage from the 2015 film, shared the never-before-seen clip of his family. “When there is love... we don’t need anything else. Thank you for defining what love is! Your face, your heart, your behaviour… every minute of your life after we met has been dedicated to me and my uyir! There can be no one like you!” Vignesh wrote, referring to Nayanthara as his “thangamey,” a term of endearment in Tamil that roughly translates to “my love.” He continued to share how Nayanthara’s honesty, strength, and kindness have deeply impacted him, calling her the most unique person he has ever known.

Vignesh also expressed his admiration for his wife’s resilience and vulnerability, stating, “The fact that you are honest... the fact that you are strong... the fact that you demand respect... the fact that you are kind and vulnerable too makes you the most unique character I have ever come across in my life!”

In his emotional message, Vignesh reflected on the impact Nayanthara has had on his life since they became a couple. “10 years back when I knew we were in love… all I wanted was a lifetime with you, with utmost happiness, with a lot of babies, with amazing moments filled with a lot of positivity, with a lot of good people around us!” he shared, highlighting how his life has been enriched by their relationship.

Nayanthara and Dhanush controversy

The conflict between Nayanthara and Dhanush revolves around a brief three-second clip from the 2015 film ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’, produced by Dhanush, which appears in the trailer of Nayanthara’s documentary. Dhanush’s legal representative has demanded that the content be taken down within 24 hours, threatening to take further action if their demands are not met.

This legal standoff came after Nayanthara took to Instagram on November 16 to express her displeasure over Dhanush’s actions. In an open letter, she criticised him for allegedly "stooping to an all-time low" with his demand for Rs 10 crore, particularly for a mere three-second clip that she claimed had already been publicly shared on social media.
