Tamil filmmaker Vikram Sugumaran passed away at the age of 47 following a cardiac arrest on Monday. Reports indicate that the director was travelling by bus from Madurai to Chennai when he suffered a heart attack. Despite being promptly admitted to a hospital, doctors were unable to revive him. Vikram Sugumaran’s remains were brought to his home in Chennai.

Tributes have poured in from the Tamil film fraternity, with many expressing their grief and sharing heartfelt memories. Actor Shanthnu Bhagyaraj took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a series of photographs with the director, writing, “#Rip dearest brother @VikramSugumara3 I’ve learnt so much from you & will always cherish every moment. Gone too soon. You will be missed #RIPVikramSugumaran.”

Actor Kayal Devaraj also paid his respects in a message on X, mentioning that Vikram Sugumaran’s remains were brought to his home in Chennai and later buried in a local cemetery. He wrote, “I really couldn’t believe this news.”
