Tamil actor Ajith Kumar narrowly avoided injury after crashing his car during a practice session for the upcoming Dubai 24 Hours race.


The 53-year-old actor, who owns the racing team Ajith Kumar Racing, is competing in the event alongside teammates Mathieu Detry, Fabian Duffieux, and Cameron McLeod.


Ajith Kumar Racing's official Instagram account shared a video of the crash, showing the actor's car colliding with the barriers at high speed. The next clip shows Ajith exiting the car, appearing unharmed.


 






In the video shared by his team, his car is seen spinning seven times after crashing on the barrier. He is then seen getting rescued and taken to an ambulance. 


The caption accompanying the post read, "Ajith Kumar’s massive crash in practice, but he walks away unscathed. Another day in the office… that’s racing!"


 






Suresh Chandra, his manager shared an update about the actor's health. "Ajith is unhurt, hale and healthy. He was driving at a speed of 180 km when this happened," he noted on social media. 


For those unaware, Ajith Kumar has a passion for driving and biking. The actor often tours around the country and abroad with his bikers group. This time, the actor had been practising with his team, which he captained, for the race. The team was supposed to drive for 24 hours, in a relay with each member driving for six hours.


Ajith was just minutes away from completing his six hours race before he crashed.
