New Delhi: Veteran media mogul and Ramoji Film CIty founder Ramoji Rao has passed away. As the 88-year-old veteran breathed his last in Hyderabad on Saturday morning, fans, the film industries of South and politicians mourned the demise of the legend of Telugu media.


Actor and producer Rohith Nara penned an emotional post for the legend on X. His condolence messages said, "Waking up to such heartbreaking news is devastating. The pride of the Telugu community, the legend of Telugu media, Sri Ramoji Rao garu, is no more. His inspirational journey and towering presence have left an indelible mark on our hearts. The loss feels immeasurable, and his absence will be deeply felt. ఓం శాంతి!


 






Filmmaker Meher Ramesh wrote, "Eenadu news paper founder & chairman Media Legend #Ramojirao garu no more 🙏🏼 Established Margadarsi chits,Priya foods , ETV network ,Ushakiron movies ,Ramoji Film city provided great employment .Rest in Peace sir 🙏🏼." 


 






G Kishan Reddy, State President of Telagana BJP posted on X, "Saddened by the passing of Shri Ramoji Rao garu. His remarkable contributions to Telugu media and journalism is commendable.  My deepest condolences to his family members. Om Shanti 🙏."


YS CHowdary, BJP MLA from Vijayawada West constituency, also mourned the death of Ramoji Rao. On X, he wrote, "Shri Ch Ramoji Rao Garu, a towering figure in Indian media and the Chairman of the Eenadu Group, has passed away this morning. His invaluable contributions to the nation, particularly to the Telugu-speaking community, have left an indelible mark. The void created by his departure is profound and will be difficult to fill in the foreseeable future. Throughout his exemplary life, his unwavering commitment to ethics and principles has been a source of inspiration for many. May his soul rest in peace."


 


 










Prime Minister Narendra Modi also penned a condolence message for the film icon on X. He wrote, "The passing away of Shri Ramoji Rao Garu is extremely saddening. He was a visionary who revolutionized Indian media. His rich contributions have left an indelible mark on journalism and the world of films. Through his noteworthy efforts, he set new standards for innovation and excellence in the media and entertainment world. Ramoji Rao Garu was extremely passionate about India’s development. I am fortunate to have got several opportunities to interact with him and benefit from his wisdom. Condolences to his family, friends and countless admirers during this difficult time. Om Shanti."


Jr. NTR also penned a hearfelt note for Ramoji Rao. He posted in Telugu which loosely translates to, "Visionaries like Sri Ramoji Rao are one in a million. A media tycoon and a giant of Indian cinema, his absence is irreparable. The news that he is no longer with us is very sad. I will never forget the memories when I was introduced to the Telugu film industry with the film 'Ninnu Chhadalani'. May his soul rest in peace and convey my deepest condolences to his family."


 






Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana, also penned a condolence message in Telugu that loosely translates to "Today, the death of leader, eminent industrialist and Padma Vibhushan awardee Cherukuri Ramoji Rao has caused a great shock. He is credited with adding credibility to Telugu journalism and adding value to the Telugu industrial sector. Without Ramojirao, the Telugu press and media sector will never be able to fill the gap. Praying to God to rest his soul in peace... My deepest condolences to the family members."
