In response to the heartbreaking event, Mythri Movie Makers released a statement on X (formerly Twitter), expressing their grief and commitment to supporting the affected family. The statement read: "We are extremely heartbroken by the tragic incident during last night’s screening. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and the young child undergoing medical treatment. What happened at the Hyderabad premiere of Pushpa 2
The tragic episode occurred on Wednesday night when an enthusiastic crowd gathered at the theater to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun. According to reports, a stampede-like situation arose as fans rushed to enter the venue. The woman and her son, struggling to make their way inside, reportedly got suffocated in the overcrowded space.
The woman’s husband revealed to a news channel that the heavy crowd was due to Allu Arjun’s unexpected visit, with no prior arrangements made by the theater management. Authorities added that the venue was too small to handle the overwhelming number of fans.
According to PTI, Police officers performed Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on the mother and son before transporting them to the hospital. Unfortunately, the woman could not be saved, and her son remains under medical care. Doctors have stated that the boy’s condition will become clearer within 48 hours.
In an effort to control the situation, police used mild force to disperse the crowd. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway.
