New Delhi: Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran met with an accident on the sets of his upcoming film Vilayath Buddha. The actor sustained a leg injury and will reportedly undergo a keyhole surgery on Monday.
Entertainment tracker Sreedhar Pillai gave the update on Twitter and wrote that the actor will be taking a break from work for a few weeks to recover. He wrote, "Leading actor #PrithvirajSukumaran met with an accident on location of his #VilayathBuddha in Marayur while shooting an action scene on Sunday. Today he will undergo a keyhole surgery on his leg at a private hospital in Kochi. He is expected to take a complete rest for a few weeks! Wishing @PrithviOfficial a speedy recovery."
Prithviraj was shooting for a fight sequence during the accident and was admitted at a private hospital in Kochi.
There has been no official confirmation about the same from the actor’s team.
Since the actor will be on break, the shooting of ‘Vilayath Buddha’ will be on hold. The film, directed by Jayan Nambiyar, revolves around a conflict between two lead characters over the ownership of a sandalwood tree. The film also stars Anu Mohan and Priyamvada Krishnan.
The actor will also be seen in Prabhas’s upcoming film Salaar. He will be playing an antagonist in the movie. The film, directed by Prashanth Neel, will be released on September 28. The actor will also be seen as an antagonist in Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan'.
