At the time of the fire, Pawan Kalyan was in Andhra Pradesh's Alluri Sitarama Raju district, meeting with local communities. After completing his scheduled commitments, he promptly flew to Singapore to be with his son. His remaining engagements in Visakhapatnam were called off in light of the incident.
