Since her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Jawan’, Nayanthara’s fame has only grown. Recently, some old photos of her resurfaced online, sparking rumors about plastic surgery. Addressing the speculation, Nayanthara shared in a chat with Hauterrfly that she’s aware people think her face has changed, but she credits this to “different brow phases” and her diet, which she says have made her look different over time.

Nayanthara reacts to plastic surgery rumours

When asked about her pre-red-carpet ritual, Nayanthara shared that shaping her brows is a must. “I take the time to perfect it because it’s the real game changer. I’ve had different brow phases over the years. Maybe that’s why people think my face is changing and I keep looking different. Maybe that’s why a lot of people think I’ve done something to my face,” the actor said.

She added, “But that’s not true. On record…not true. Not that it’s wrong. But for me, it has just been diet, so there’s been a lot of weight fluctuation and my cheeks go in and out. You can pinch me, burn me, you’ll know there’s no plastic in here.”

Over the years, people have speculated that she had cosmetic surgery to sharpen her facial features and liposuction to look slimmer.

Nayanthara film projects

Nayanthara was recently seen in the 2023 Tamil film ‘Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food’. When it released on Netflix, it sparked controversy for allegedly hurting religious sentiments, leading the platform to temporarily remove it. Netflix later re-added the film after editing out the disputed scenes.

She has finished filming two Tamil movies, ‘Test’ and ‘Mannangatti Since 1960’, which are set for release. She’s currently working on ‘Thani Oruvan 2’ and has signed on for ‘Mookuthi Amman 2’. Nayanthara is also filming a Malayalam movie, ‘Dear Students’, with Nivin Pauly.
