Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly was officially cleared by the police on Wednesday in a sexual assault case filed against him two months back. Authorities submitted a report to the local court requesting that Pauly’s name be removed from the list of accused, while investigations will proceed against the remaining five individuals involved. Investigators found evidence that Pauly was not present at the scene on the date and time cited in the complaint. This key finding led the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) to file a report with the First Class Magistrate Court in Kothamangalam, Ernakulam, officially requesting that Nivin’s name be removed from the list of suspects.

Sexual assault allegations against Nivin Pauly and his response

The allegations against Pauly, 40, surfaced when a woman accused him, along with five others, of sexual assault under the pretense of securing her a role in a film. In her complaint, the woman also accused Pauly and his PR team of harassing her and her family through the spread of false information and an attempt to portray her as part of a honey trap.

Following these allegations, Nivin firmly rejected the claims, stating they were completely false. In a post on social media, he addressed the accusations, saying, “I have come across a false news report accusing me of abusing a girl. Please know that this is entirely untrue. I’m determined to go to any extent to prove these allegations are baseless and will take all necessary steps to bring those responsible to light. Thank you for your concern. The rest will be handled legally.”

Two days later, he filed a formal complaint with the State Police Chief, describing the accusations as “baseless” and expressing his intent to pursue a legal fight to clear his name.

Pauly’s alleged involvement generated significant attention, especially since it came shortly after the release of the Justice Hema Committee report on August 19. This report highlighted the troubling conditions faced by women in the film industry, including cases of harassment and exploitation.
