Nag Ashwin's magnum opus 'Kalki 2898 AD' has been breaking records at the box office even before its release in theatres. The much-awaited film hit screens last month and it is still going strong. The sci-fi film, starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan, has captured audiences' attention with its breathtaking visuals and outstanding performances. However, one of the actors, whose face was barely visible, managed to steal the show despite the cast being full of stars.
Who plays Lord Krishna in Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD?
In a pivotal sequence in the movie, Amitabh Bachchan, who plays Ashwatthama, faces Lord Krishna on a battlefield. Although the face of Lord Krishna was concealed, we now know who portrayed the character. The actor's face is never seen other than in silhouette, along with their body and hair.
Now, curious fans have figured out that Tamil actor Krishnakumar portrayed the role in the film. The actor also took to his social media handle to post a brief clip from the film and his silhouette can be seen in it. “An absolute honour to be able to open an epic film, playing such a special character. Grateful," he wrote.

Krishnakumar Balasubramanian's journey in cinema
Krishnakumar Balasubramanian, who has grabbed eyeballs with his brief stint, seems to be a man of many talents. According to his Instagram bio, he is also a director, producer, and action choreographer. The Tamil actor made his acting debut in 2010 with the film 'Kadhalagi'. However, after his debut, Krishnakumar took a break from the big screen.
In 2020, ‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai’, an Amazon Prime anthology film, marked his return to movies. Later that year, the actor rose to fame for playing Suriya’s friend Chaitanya, aka Chay, in the film ‘Soorarai Pottru’. He also acted in the Dhanush starrer ‘Maaran’ in 2022.
Krishnakumar set to make Bollywood debut
After portraying Lord Krishna in Prabhas starrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, Krishnakumar Balasubramanian is set to share the screen with Akshay Kumar in his upcoming film ‘Sarfira’. The film, which also stars Radhika Madan, is slated to release on July 12.
