Actor Suriya recently made an appearance on Balakrishna’s popular talk show, 'Unstoppable with NBK', where he candidly discussed everything from his culinary preferences to his most cherished performance. While the actor was tight-lipped about his childhood crush, his younger brother, Karthi, who joined in over a call, added some playful revelations.

Karthi reveals Suriya's childhood crush

During the show, Suriya mentioned his love for biryani as his favorite dish and highlighted his role in ‘Soorarai Pottru’ as a career-defining performance. When Balakrishna asked him about his first crush, Suriya hesitated, humorously describing himself as a “late bloomer.” He said, “Late bloomer, sir. To understand crush and everything, it took time.”

Balakrishna then called up Karthi for more details. Karthi joked that Suriya has been telling “many lies” since childhood and added that his brother sometimes gets annoyed just by seeing him, with no real reason needed to start a sibling squabble.

When Balakrishna probed Karthi about Suriya’s first crush, Karthi revealed that Suriya had a fondness for a certain actress and mentioned the popular song 'Chikubuku Raile.' Balakrishna instantly guessed, “Gautami?” and Karthi confirmed with a laugh. An embarrassed Suriya responded in Telugu, playfully calling Karthi “dangerous like a knife.”

'Chikubuku Raile’ is a famous track from Shankar's 1993 film ‘Gentleman’, featuring Gautami and Prabhu Deva.

On the work front

On the work front, Suriya is gearing up for the release of ‘Kanguva’, directed by Siva, where he plays dual roles—a warrior from the past and a contemporary man. Set to hit theaters on November 14, the film also stars Bobby Deol and Disha Patani. Additionally, he has completed filming for an untitled project with director Karthik Subbaraj.

Meanwhile, Karthi, who was recently seen in ‘Meiyazhagan’, is currently filming for Vaa Vaathiyaar and Sardar 2. Meiyazhagan, produced by Suriya, also stars Arvind Swamy.
