Shankar's ‘Game Changer’, starring Ram Charan, Kiara Advani, Anjali, and SJ Suryah, has exceeded the lifetime collection of his highly anticipated project, ‘Indian 2’, which starred Kamal Haasan.
Game Changer beats Kamal Haasan's Indian 2
The film is steadily performing at the box office. According to Sacnilk, ‘Game Changer’ has earned Rs 89.60 crore net in India, with a recent Rs 17 crore collection, surpassing ‘Indian 2’, which grossed Rs 81.32 crore net.
‘Game Changer’ had a strong start, earning Rs 51 crore net on its opening day in India. However, the film faced a sharp decline on day 2, with a 57.65% drop, bringing in only Rs 21.6 crore net.
The film's occupancy also saw a dip, with the Telugu version registering 18.01% in the morning and a slight increase to 33.22% in the afternoon shows.
Game Changer box office drop
The box-office drop for ‘Game Changer’ can be linked to mixed reviews from both critics and audiences, along with the release of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Daaku Maharaaj’, the second major Sankranthi release of 2025. Despite this, the film still has potential for recovery, thanks to the extended holiday weekend.
Although the makers initially reported Rs 186 crore in global earnings on Day 1, they have not released updated figures. It’s anticipated that by the end of the opening weekend, the total collection could reach between Rs 250-300 crore.
‘Game Changer’ opened strong with Rs 41.25 crore for its Telugu version, but its box-office performance quickly declined, with only Rs 20.5 crore collected over the next two days. This sharp drop is a key reason for its underwhelming reception.
