New Delhi: Telugu star Chiranjeevi stood by Tamil actor Trisha, slamming actor Mansoor Ali Khan's derogatory comments against her as "disgusting." Recently, Khan—who appeared in the Vijay starrer film "Leo" directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj—made sexist remarks over his inability to share screen time with Trisha while the movie was being shot in Kashmir.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Chiranjeevi wrote, “My attention was drawn to some reprehensible comments made by actor Mansoor Ali Khan about Trisha.”
“The comments are distasteful and disgusting not just for an artiste but for any woman or girl. These comments must be condemned in the strongest words. They reek of perversion,” the actor added.
Concluding his statement, Chiranjeevi wrote, “I stand with @trishtrashers and every woman who has to be subject to such horrid comments.”
Trisha stated that she would never again work with the actor, calling Khan's remarks "sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive, and in bad taste."
Mansoor's quite offensive and derogatory remarks against the actor set off the whole incident between Trisha and him.
Given that both actors starred in "Leo," Khan thought there would be a bedroom scene in which he would be playing a rapist. But during their schedule in Kashmir, he never got to meet Trisha.
Following the controversy, Trisha has gotten a lot of support from internet users all throughout the nation who are calling for Mansoor Ali Khan to be arrested because they find his remarks offensive.
The National Commission of Women brought up the matter as well, filing complaints against the actor and ordering the DGP to book him.
