New Delhi: Popular singer Shaan was trolled on Saturday for wishing Eid wearing a skullcup. He then responded to all the trolls through a video. On Saturday, Shaan shared a picture on Instagram of himself wearing a skull cap, his hands raised in prayer.

He wrote: "Eid Mubarak to You and Your Family."

However, his comments section was flooded with angry and hateful comments and slammed him for wishing Eid Mubarak despite being Hindu. The singer has now disabled the comment section of the post.

He then posted a video responding to the trolling. He mentioned how he was always taught to respect all religions equally. He also mentioned the photo is from his music video titled 'Karam Karde', which was out three years ago.

"Usme ye Look Tha .. toh socha it goes with the occasion .. bas itni si baat," he said.

"Since childhood, I was taught to celebrate all festivals and respect every religion. This is what I believe in and this is what every Indian should believe in too. Baaki aapki soch aapko Mubarak," the singer mentioned.

"Love each other, respect each other, don't keep such polarised thinking and thoughts. Any nation which has walked on the path of religion has not moved ahead. We are the biggest democracy in the world and today, we have the maximum population in the world, we should change our thinking, we should be more inclusive. We should look toward creating a beautiful world, not just a beautiful country,” he said in the video.
