Singer and rapper Sidhu Moose Wala received a tribute at Times Square, New York on the occasion of his birthday. The Punjabi rapper who was shot dead in Punjab last month would have turned 29 on June 11. 


Huge billboards played Moose Wala's song as fans sang along and gathered together to pay last tributes to him. A video clip of the same was shared by a user on his official Twitter account and wrote, "Sidhu Moose Wala made the billboards in Times Square on his birthday... CHK Fer.... ❤️🕊🤍."


Fans cheered on and also sang and clicked photographs as Mosse Wala's pictures with his mother flashed on a screen above Nasdaq's office in Times Square. 


The video has been retweeted and liked by multiple people on the microblogging site Twitter.

Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu was well known by his stage name Sidhu Moose Wala. He was killed a day after the Punjab government lifted the security of 424 people including Moose Wala. 


Moose Wala's last rites were conducted in his native village where his father paid him a special tribute. His cremation was attended by thousands of people including his family members.


Among the 8 people who were reported to have killed Moose Wala, 6 have been identified and 2 detained. Santosh Jadhav, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and Jadhav' aide have been detailed by the police.
