The 'Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman' producers paid for Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's honeymoon, and the entire cast and crew of the movie travelled with them to Darjeeling. Aziz Mirza's first film as a filmmaker, which also starred Juhi Chawla, just turned 30 on November 13. The film's writer and associate director, Manoj Lalwani, shared a surprising fact about the romance drama's filming.

Shah Rukh Khan, the movie's lead actor, celebrated his honeymoon while the film was in production, according to Lalwani in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. While he was still filming the movie, Shah Rukh and Gauri got married. He spent his honeymoon in Darjeeling. The entire cast had also travelled with them to film the film's opening scene.

“Yes. Shah Rukh Khan got married in Delhi. Then, he had his honeymoon in Darjeeling. We also accompanied Shah Rukh and Gauri as we had to shoot his intro scene in the film. I still remember the whole crew had travelled in train in second class. It was a difficult, 36-hour journey. I was lucky as Aziz bhai (director Aziz Mirza) asked me to join him, Shah Rukh and Gauri on the flight,” Manoj Lalwani revealed in his interview.

Lalwani further disclosed that Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's honeymoon was paid for by the movie's producers.

"So yeah, Shah Rukh ka honeymoon Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman ke production ke khaate pe hua! It was quite cold in Darjeeling. There was no heater in Shah Rukh’s room. Aziz bhai and I were in the same room. We had a heater and we gave it to Shah Rukh and Gauri," he said.

Aziz Mirza's 1992 romantic comedy 'Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman' stars Nana Patekar, Amrita Singh, Shahrukh Khan, and Juhi Chawla. Khan portrays Raju, a young Darjeeling native with a diploma in civil engineering who moves to Bombay in the hopes of pursuing a career as an engineer.
