New Delhi: The lead actor of 'Scam 2003' web series has finally been announced with an official teaser. Hansal Mehta, who helmed 'Scam:1992' has found the lead who will portray the role of Abdul Karim Telgi, the kingpin of counterfeit stamp paper. Gagan Dev Rai will be portraying the role of Abdul Karim Telgi in 'Scam 2003'.


Hansal Mehta took to his official Instagram handle to make the announcement. He shared the official teaser of 'Scam 2003: The Telgi Story' which featured multiple images of Ganagn as Telgi. Hansal also captioned the teaser, "Telgi has been found. Presenting the very talented Gagan Dev Riar as Abdul Telgi. #Scam2003." 


The new 'Scam 2003' web series is being helmed by 'Saand Ki Aankh' director Tushar Hiranandani. 


Gagan Dev Rai, on the other hand, has been casted by famous casting director Mukesh Chhabra. Gagan has worked with acclaimed directors like Abhishek Chaubey in 'Sonchiriya' and Mira Nair in 'A Suitable Boy'.


Fans and netizens have lauded the casting process in the comments section of Hansal Mehta's post by calling it 'brilliant' and 'perfect'. A user also spoke about how he had been wondering who will be cast in the series ever since it was announced and was glad to know that Gagan Rai will be headlining 'Scam 2003'.

Hansal Mehta had previously directed 'Scam:1992' featuring Pratik Gandhi in the lead. This time he has given the director reins to Tushar while he has tagged himself as 'the show runner'. Hansal's 'Scam: 1992 was appreciated by critics and audiences alike with many calling it the best web series of recent times.


With the expectation built from 'Scam:1992', audiences and fans will eagerly wait for what 'Scam 2003' brings.
