Mumbai: Famous Television and film actor Sushant Singh on Wednesday condemned Twitter and Government of India for allegedly blocking his account on the microblogging site. Taking to his Instagram account, the actor earlier today announced that his Twitter handle was withheld for a shorter period.
He even shared a screenshot of his Twitter profile which (when blocked on Wednesday morning) read, "Account Withheld @sushant_says's account has been withheld in India in response to a legal demand."
The actor, who is quite vocal about issues beyond cinema, slammed the microblogging site for blocking his account without prior notice. In his Instagram post, the actor said, "My Twitter account @sushant_says has been withheld again. Hey @twitter at least have the decency to send a notice."
He also tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, "Thanks @narendramodi @bjp4india @rssorg_official for letting me know that I am on the right path."
Taking note of the development, his colleagues and actors Gulshan Devaiah, Ashwin Mushran and Swara Bhasker raised questions to the concerned authorities.
Bollywood actor Swara Bhasker said, "Why has @sushant_says's account been withheld, and other accounts @TwitterIndia?"

Actor Gulshan Devaiah also questioned the reason behind this action. "Again ? Aiyyo! Why this time?" the actor said.
This is not the first time that his twitter account has been withheld. Earlier this year in February, multiple accounts of activists including that of Sushant Singh, were withheld following an alleged spate of FIRs against journalists and news portals over their coverage of farmers’ protests against the three Farm Bills.
