New Delhi: Actor Jitendra Shastri who acted in shows like 'Mirzapur' and films like 'Black Friday', 'Lajja', 'Charas' among others passed away at the age of 65.The reason behind his death is not known yet. Soon after the news of his death came, members of the film fraternity and Shastri's colleagues shared heartfelt condolences for the actor.


Taking to his official Instagram handle, Sanjay Mishra shared the news of his friend's demise. He also uploaded an old video featuring Jitendra.Sanjay captioned the video, "Jitu bhai had you been here, you would have said something like, ‘Mishra sometimes what happens is that a name stays in the mobile’s contact list and the person goes out of network’. you are out of the world, but will always remain in the network of my mind and heart Om Shanti.”


 






Manoj Bajpayee took to Twitter to mourn the loss of his friend. 'The Family Man' actor wrote, "So sad to hear of the passing away of my senior and initial mumbai days friend Jeetu shastri!”


 






A great actor and an exemplary human being! Rest in peace mere bhai! This material world couldn’t know what to do with a divine soul like you! Heartbroken Om Shanti,” he added.


Rajesh Tailang, who is also a 'Mirzapur' cast member wrote, "Can’t believe Jitu Bhai is no more, what an amazing actor, what a wonderful human being, amazing sense of humour, got the opportunity to spend time working with him. It was my good fortune. #JitendraShastri Jitu Bhai Regards”. Rajesh Tailang also shared a picture of Jitendra Shastri along with his post.


 




Lyricist Swanand Kirkire also paid tribute to Jeetu on social media: “Graduate of National School of Drama, my forefather actor Jitendra Shastri is no more with us. He was from Ujjain. Apart from films, his theater contribution will be remembered. He was also a part of Rangamandal Bharat Bhavan Bhopal. Farewell my brother.”
